My Aim

Hello,
My name is Charli, and I am a 15-year-old European New Zealander. I was born with a currently undiagnosed mild to moderate neuromuscular disease (basically just muscle weakness).

When I was ten, I decided to start my own website, sharing my experiences and my struggles with my disability. When I started this blog, I didn't have a clear aim for what I wanted to achieve, so it was hard to stay consistent when posting and updating. I knew I wanted to raise awareness, but I didn't have a clear plan for achieving it.

It wasn't until a few months ago when I came across a website run by young disabled people called Cripple Media that I decided to take down my website, refocus it, and republish it with a clear focus. My website aims to raise awareness and start a community that connects and encourages people with disabilities to share their own experiences and help raise awareness for the disabled community. Over the last few years I have came across many platforms that support and enable people with various disabilities to participate in activities many people claim "aren't suitable" for the disabled community such as Hallberg (a New Zealand based club), Morgan's Inclusion (an organisation that makes ultra-accessable theme parks that enable everyone to be included and have fun no matter their ability),

I have decided to keep my previous articles from before I redid my website, as they have important information regarding what it is like to live with my disability and would be helpful for other people to understand. I hope this website will turn into a kind of newspaper social media site for disabilities where people can represent themselves for who they are, show their experiences, and raise awareness for the truth of the disabled community. Please feel free to share your experiences. In addition to that hope, I aim to be able to educate people on invisible disabilities (specifically disabilities like mine, as they are largely untalked about).
